JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - The regulation for motorized vehicle usage restriction using odd-even license plate number has been enforced since the beginning of June 2022. However, there are still many motorists who violate the law by entering the roads that the system applies.

Keep in mind, there are sanctions in the form of a maximum fine of IDR500,000 for those who violate this regulation. This refers to Article 287 of Law Number 12 Year 2009 on Road Traffic and Transportation.

This odd-even license plate number restriction rule has been tested for the period of 6-12 June 2022, and the rule was then enforced, and a ticket system is imposed for those who violate it.

The trial was carried out after the addition of road segment points to which the odd-even license plate rule would apply. The odd-even system was previously implemented at 13 road sections, then expanded to 26 points in the Jakarta area.

This odd-even license plate number restriction rule applies from Monday to Friday, in the morning from 6:00 to 10:00 local time, and in the afternoon from 16:00 to 21:00 local time. Meanwhile, on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays the odd-even system rules are not enforced.

However, there are several vehicles that fall into the exception to this odd-even rule, namely military and police service vehicles, ambulances, fire engines, vehicles transporting health workers or doctors, public transportation, taxis, and motorcycles, among others.
